Life has been pretty hectic in the past couple of months leading up to this trip. (Hence the lack of blogging) I have known about this trip for over a year. But, I don't think I had ever fully processed through exactly on what I was about to embark.
You may not know, but I am currently touring around Israel for ten days with my friend and pastor Josh Lindstrom. He has already blogged several times and it is really quite a good read worth giving a read. We are packing the days with traveling from site to site. When I say packing, I mean PACKING. Just yesterday, we saw six different sites across the northern part of the country. At each site we have the opportunity to hear Dr. Charlie Dyer open up the Scriptures and explain the significance of the place on which we stand.

Bible Study Magazine and Mars Hill are giving away 20 copies of Mark Driscoll’s new book, Vintage Church. Not only that, but they are also giving away five subscriptions to Bible Study Magazine and a copy of their Bible Study Library software! Enter to win on the Bible Study Magazine Mark Driscoll page, then take a look at all the cool tools they have to take your Bible study to the next level!
I would seriously love to do this. Seriously.

(I know, I know, I haven't blogged in over a month. Life gets busy, blog gets neglected. I'll try to assemble some sort of recap action soon. For now, enjoy the video, and know I am still alive and doing fine.)
People say all the time how much this world is changing and how different it is for the youth growing up today. The video below is pretty revealing of just how true that it.
There is an insane amount of information that teenagers are exposed to. More information than has ever been given. I think that one of my biggest tasks as a Pastor of Students is to teach and train them how to filter these mass amounts of data through a biblical worldview. To decide how to process and how to evaluate truth. This comes through knowing and understanding the Word of God.
I am so thankful that even in such a changing world with more and more "new" information that we can hold fast to a book that has never changed nor will it. I am so thankful to serve a God that will always be the same. Tomorrow may be different but God will not.
I took this picture tonight. I like it a lot.
That's my girl...
Several months ago I was introduced to the beautiful thing that is Padora Radio. It transformed my music listening. If you are like me, you may grow tired of your music at a rate quicker than your pocket allows you to refresh it. Here is where Pandora comes in. It is a free internet radio site that you control.
You simply enter in an artist or song and it will create your own station that will play that genre of music. I have been introduced to many new groups and enjoyed a ton of old school music that I don't own. Pandora is running almost all day, every day that I am at the office.
I must admit, it is with hesitancy that I write this post. Pandora is possibly going to be closing down soon. The royalties that it pays are too great and the company is losing money. I thought it was my duty to make you aware of this amazing service before it is too late.
Enjoy it while you can.
Brie and I have lived here for almost 3 years now. I feel that as of late we have fallen into a bit of slump with our dining selection. We have become pretty content with our regulars and haven't really tried anything new in a while. I thought it would be a great idea for both you and I if I polled the very wide readership of this blog to ask for some suggestions. So, even if you have never commented on a blog before, let me know your answer for some or all of the following categories. I'd love to hear about some little-known, secret places or even the right thing to order at the right place.
- Pizza
- Steak
- Italian
- Wings
- Thai
- Chinese
- Once-a-year-splurge
- Cheap lunch
- Breakfast
- Mexican
- Fried Chicken
- Date Night
- Ribs
- Dessert
- Wildcard: Your favorite place
Sooo... what do you recommend?
Brie's parents (Grammy and Grandpa) are here for the weekend. They have been loving their time and can't believe how much fun Ellie is to interact with. Yesterday, we drove to the mountains to look at the colors. We had a great time and took a ton of pictures. Here's a couple of them, we'll be loading a bunch more to Flickr soon.

So when I have a slammed day at the office. Lunch is the first thing to go. When I need it really quick I reach for the my faithful back up lunch. Maruchan Instant Lunch. I know many of you probably think this is the grossest thing that there is. But, it is cheap and I acutally like it. So there you have it, my lunch when I don' t have time to eat.
So what do you eat when you are in a rush?
We'll I've tried a few different templates for the blog. I've had a bunch of fun messing around with it. I really have no idea what I am doing. I am just kinda learning as I go along. It is a lot of fun for me though. I know I am revealing my geek side but I enjoy solving puzzles. Working with html is often like solving a puzzle for me. I just keep trying till it seems to work.
So... what do you think of the new look?
